What works in Vegas: Lisa of Blackpink’s “Viva La Lisa” series at the Colosseum.
The K-pop superstar sold out all four of her dates at Caesars Palace’s premier venue within 10 minutes of general on sale. The approximately 16,000 tickets went public at 10 a.m. Thursday.
As for the next instinctive question, “Will she add dates?” We answer with a firm, “No idea!” Nothing announced yet.
But the cast member of “The White Lotus” is starring in the first K-pop residency ever in Las Vegas. Her super strong sales are an indication K-pop could lead to a stream of fans, and revenue, to K-pop residencies.
This is not the first time the artist, born Lalisa Manoban, has impressed commercially. She set sales records among female K-pop artists with her 2021 debut album, “Lalisa,” which has sold more than 815,000 copies, including more than 750,000 in South Korea, where Lisa is based.
The 29-year-old artist also boasts the largest Instagram following among K-pop artists, with 107 million followers (more than double South Korea’s population).
Blackpink sold out Allegiant Stadium on Aug. 13, 2023. The quartet of Lisa, Jisoo, Jennie and Rosé also headlined Coachella in 2023. A reported 125,000 fans were in attendance.
