New England Patriots
The Patriots (3-2) face the Jets (2-3) in an AFC East matchup at Gillette Stadium.
The Patriots (3-2) host an AFC East opponent for the first time in the 2026 season on Sunday, and will do so with several important players back from injury.
New England kicks off against the Jets (2-3) at 1 p.m. on what should be a classic fall afternoon at Gillette Stadium, with A.J. Brown making first appearance on the roster since exiting in the Week 1 loss against the Seahawks with high ankle sprain.
In addition, NFL insider Ian Rapoport reported on Sunday morning that both running back TreVeyon Henderson and left tackle Will Campbell are “likely” to play despite dealing with injuries of their own (both were eventually confirmed as active). Cornerback Christian Gonzalez is also set to return.
Beyond the injuries, New England has been trending upward after consecutive wins against the Bills and Raiders. Drake Maye has rebounded after a slow start to the year with dominant showings that reminded fans of his MVP candidacy in 2025.
The Jets arrive in Foxborough after defeating the Browns 17-12 in Week 5. Two of New York’s three losses have been a touchdown or less. Even without Breece Hall (ruled out due to a quad injury), New York could prove to be a difficult matchup. Geno Smith has yet to throw an interception in five games.
Stay tuned for all of the updates throughout the day, including postgame storylines and videos:
A.J. Brown is officially back
While recent updates left little doubt, the Patriots officially teased the return of their star wide receiver by sharing a photo of A.J. Brown’s jersey prior to kickoff against the Jets.
Patriots inactives list
Carlton Davis is among those ruled out again for New England, but the lack of announcements from other prominent Patriots means that TreVeyon Henderson, Will Campbell, Christian Gonzalez, and A.J. Brown (all listed as questionable) are set to play.
Edelman puts Patriots in the spotlight
Former Patriots wide receiver Julian Edelman singled out his former team as being “on the rise.”
Gonzalez arrives
The Patriots’ top cornerback appears set to return to the field today after missing two games with a shoulder injury.
Henderson, Campbell “likely” to play
Per NFL insider Ian Rapoport, both TreVeyon Henderson and Will Campbell are expected to be active today against the Jets. New England is also expected to get A.J. Brown and Christian Gonzalez back.
