A Utah offensive lineman has returned to practice this week

Utah’s offensive line earned the Big 12’s Beef of the Week recognition — given to the best offensive or defensive line performance of the weekend — after helping the Utes post 545 yards of offense, including 287 yards rushing, in their 41–24 win over Kansas.

That line could be getting beefier soon.

Utah has been without key rotational offensive lineman Isaiah Garcia for the last two games because of an injury. But there’s good news on that front as the Utes prepare for Colorado this Saturday.

“He’s back practicing this week,” Utah head coach Morgan Scalley said. “It’s good to have him back. I love Ike.”

The former four-star recruit out of Corner Canyon High School was the No. 1 player in Utah in the 2024 recruiting class.

Garcia saw limited action in his freshman season and didn’t see the field in 2025. He was expected, though, to be part of a reshaped offensive line this year.

Injuries have hampered his start to the 2026 season, but his return should be a nice boost for Utah’s depth in the trenches.

The Utes’ offensive line has gotten off to a strong start this year after entering the season with multiple question marks, especially after losing all five starters from the 2025 line.

Utah has the second-best rushing attack in the Big 12, just behind West Virginia, at 6.0 yards per carry and 238 rushing yards per game.

Utah has allowed six sacks through five games, including three in its most recent victory over the Jayhawks.
