Orlando Mural Festival, presented by CityArts and the Downtown Arts District, took place over the weekend with over a dozen artists working around downtown Orlando to bring their designs to life on a massive scale. Art Party, a day of celebration for local artists, took place on Saturday with the inevitable yet unplanned intermission due to rain.
“I used to see the painted traffic boxes around town,” Bridget Hartig, a mural artist for over five years, told Orlando Weekly. “I’ve done three [traffic boxes] down this street. That kicked off my love for murals.”
