A conversation about turning presence into power ends at a location where a group of workers did exactly that. Join activist and author Rashad Robinson, the Buffalo & Erie County Public Library, and fellow attendees at Duende at Silo City for drinks and an hour and a half inside one of the most striking spaces in Buffalo. Duende is located where an 1899 worker strike broke the “saloon boss” system controlling their hiring and their pay. This strike was one of the most consequential labor victories on the Great Lakes.
