Out-there Orlando artists Jon Napoles and Gerg open new exhibition Friday at Lil Indie’s

Enigmatic local artist Jon Napoles resurfaces for a rare exhibition, this time in tandem with Orlando tattoo artist and painter GERG. Napoles takes a break from his otherworldly window paintings to revisit an earlier obsession: shooting targets as art. They are, yes, functional bull’s-eyes, but painted and collaged in a way that would make both Andy Warhol and Williams Burroughs proud.

”I worked laboriously on them so I hope they get shot to hell,” Napoles told us, no doubt with a wry grin. GERG, meanwhile, deals in intricate illustrations that are affecting and whimsical. A solid way to start the weekend.

6 p.m. Friday, Aug. 14, Lil Indie’s, 1036 N. Mills Ave., willspub.org, free.
