The victim told police that she was walking in the area when the two suspects allegedly robbed her at knifepoint.
Two men are facing armed robbery and assault charges after allegedly robbing a victim at knifepoint Thursday, according to police.
Deivi Yoander Sanchez Aguasvivas, 24, and Luis Miguel Ramirez-Astacio, 26, were arrested and charged with one count each of armed robbery and assault with a dangerous weapon, Boston police said in a statement.
Just before 4 p.m. Thursday, officers responded to a radio call for an armed robbery at 140 Humboldt Ave. in Dorchester. When they arrived, they met a victim who told them she was robbed at knifepoint by two men on a blue moped, according to police.
The victim told officers that she was walking in the area when the passenger on the moped jumped off and ran toward her armed with a knife, police said. When she fell to the ground, the suspect removed her chain and took her wallet before getting back on the moped and fleeing in the direction of Seaver Street.
Detectives began an investigation which led them to the area of 777 Tremont St., and at about 4:45 p.m., they saw both suspects arrive on the blue moped. The driver, later identified as Aguasvivas, entered the building and was taken into custody, according to police.
The passenger, later identified as Ramirez-Astacio, fled the area on the moped and headed toward a residence on Barry Street in Dorchester, police said. At around 2:30 p.m. Friday, detectives found him, and he was taken into custody.
Aguasvivas was arraigned Friday in the Roxbury division of Boston Municipal Court, where he pleaded not guilty, according to court records. He was ordered held without bail pending a dangerousness hearing scheduled for Aug. 5.
Court records for Ramirez-Astacio were not immediately available Sunday, but police said that he was found to have an outstanding warrant in Suffolk Superior Court on two counts of assault to rob, two counts of assault and battery, five counts of unarmed robbery, and one count each of unarmed assault to rob and assault and battery on an elderly or disabled victim.
