Voters across the state should expect their primary election ballots to arrive in the mail by Tuesday ahead of election day on Aug. 8.
County clerks must have voters’ ballots returned and in hand by 7 p.m. Aug. 8 in order for them to be counted. Ballots that are postmarked by Aug. 8 but arrive after 7 p.m. will not be counted, according to the state Office of Elections.
The state Office of Elections continues to remind voters who vote by mail to sign their return envelopes to ensure their votes are counted.
Ballots that are returned by mail or left in drop-off locations around the state can be tracked online at elections.hawaii.gov or by enrolling by calling 808-453-VOTE (8683).
In order to ensure ballots are counted, voters should not correct any mistakes and instead request a replacement ballot.
Voters who have moved or changed addresses since the 2024 election cycle need to update their registration information through elections.hawaii.gov or by filling out a voter registration application at all state libraries and post offices.
