A shark advisory has been issued for Kahe Point, also known as ‘Electric Beach,’ in Leeward Oahu.
Honolulu Ocean Safety lifeguards confirmed the sighting of two, non-aggressive, 5- to 7-foot sharks near the flumes at Kahe Point this morning. Lifeguards have posted warning signs.
City officials also issued an HNL Alert about the shark advisory at about 8:30 a.m. today.
“If you see or encounter a shark, notify Ocean Safety personnel or call 911 immediately,” said the alert. “Always check with a lifeguard for the latest ocean and beach conditions.”
