The City and County of Honolulu will consolidate all Kona-low storm assistance efforts to a single location at Waialua District Park starting Friday.
On Friday, operations at the Waialua Community Assistance Center and the “Sugar Mill Distribution Hub” will move to Waialua District Park, city officials said.
The Community Assistance Center will continue to operate daily from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. within the park’s gym, with parking available in the ball field. The community-led Distribution Hub, meanwhile, will operate in the park’s paved parking lot along Goodale Avenue from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. and 4:30 to 7 p.m.
Officials said this timetable would better serve residents, and reduce traffic impacts for nearby Waialua Elementary School.
“The combined operation is designed to streamline services, improve access to critical resources, and enhance coordination among City departments and community partners,” said officials in a statement. “Residents will be able to pick up essential supplies at the Distribution Hub, with the CAC continuing to serve as a one-stop location for residents seeking in-person support, including: access to City services, recovery resources, and assistance from partner organizations.”
On Saturday, most CAC services will temporarily relocate to the BYU–Hawaii Gymnasium in Laia from 12 to 5 p.m. to provide recovery assistance to windward and North Shore residents who may have difficulty traveling to Waialua.

On Easter Sunday, all operations at Waialua District Park will be closed in observance of the holiday. Services are scheduled to resume at 10 a.m. on Monday.
City officials have also relaunched OneOahu.org, as a centralized website for all storm-related recovery information following back-to-back storms in March.
