Jazz in the Park returning to Las Vegas this summer

It’s going to be an “Elegant Gypsy” kind of summer, as Jazz in the Park has announced its return to the Clark County Government Center Amphitheater.

Among the featured performers for the free concert series’ 36th year is guitar great Al DiMeola, whose aforementioned second album stands as a jazz-fusion classic.

DiMeola, who performs on June 6, highlights an impressive roster of acts, including renowned saxophonist Michael Phillips (May 9), Grammy-winning bassist and Miles Davis collaborator Marcus Miller (May 16), smooth jazz supergroup Jazz Funk Soul (May 23) and urban-jazz pianist Kayla Waters (May 30).

This year, Jazz in the Park returns to a ticketless entrance, with a first-come, first-served model utilized in the past.

Gates open at 4 p.m. each show, with performances starting around 5 p.m.

Fans are encouraged to bring blankets, low-back chairs and picnic baskets to enjoy an evening of music beneath the stars.
