Who will Utah Valley University baseball face in the NCAA regionals?

UVU earned its second NCAA postseason bid after defeating Abilene Christian in the WAC championship

(UVU Athletics) Utah Valley University’s baseball team celebrates winning the WAC championship on Saturday, May 24, 2025, after beating Abilene Christian University, 11-9, in Mesa, Arizona. UVU will go to Eugene, Oregon, for the NCAA regionals.

For the second time in program history, Utah Valley University baseball is headed to the postseason.

The Wolverines finished the 2025 regular season with a 32-27 overall record. UVU then defeated Abilene Christian in the WAC championship to earn a bid into the NCAA regionals.

“This group is special,” Nate Rasmussen, UVU’s head coach, said after the WAC championship win. “From the moment we got together last August to now, it has been an absolute pleasure to be with them. I’m thrilled that I get to spend at least one more week with them.”

It’s the Wolverines’ second appearance in the field of 64 in the program’s history. UVU’s last appearance in the postseason was in 2016, when it traveled to the Baton Rouge regional at Louisiana State University.

Utah Valley will now look forward to facing No. 12 Oregon in the Eugene regional at the Ducks’ home field, PK Park, Friday at 7 p.m. Mountain time. The regional will also host Arizona and Cal Poly.

UVU has only faced the Ducks once in program history, in 2019 in Orem. Oregon won that game, 12-9.
