South Orange reminds village residents that the use of gas-powered leaf blowers is strictly prohibited through Sept. 30.
The ban, which went into effect at 12:01 a.m. on May 1, lasts until 11:59 p.m. on Sept. 30.
During the restricted period, the use of electric leaf blowers is still permitted, but only during designated hours. Electric leaf blowers can be used Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m., and on Saturdays and Sundays from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
