Esse Museum to Host ‘Crimson Moon: An Exhibit Featuring the Jewelry Collection of Leesa Renshaw’

A journey across cultures and through the lens of gemstones awaits visitors to the Esse Museum and Store in its upcoming exhibit “Crimson Moon.”

The show explores the extraordinary personal jewelry collection of Little Rock local Leesa Renshaw, who has spent years assembling pieces from around the world that range from art deco to neolithic and beyond.

The exhibit will be displayed in 13 categories, each built around the pieces’ era of origin.

“Jewelry not only holds the beauty of adornment, but also the history of its materials,” the museum says, “and for Renshaw, the quest for these iconic pieces is just as thrilling as acquiring them.”

This show furthers Esse’s mission to explore women’s history through everyday artifacts like purses and jewelry.

“Crimson Moon” opens on Tuesday, March 4, and will run through June 1.
