Woman dies after being pulled from burning Pinson home

An investigation is underway after a woman was killed in a fire at her Pinson home.

The fire happened just before 3 p.m. Tuesday on Heritage Place.

Center Point Fire and Rescue Battalion Chief Chris Horn said crews arrived on the scene to find heavy fire and smoke coming from the residence.

Firefighters began to knock back the flames and then did a primary search of the home.

They pulled the victim from and began to treat her, but she was pronounced dead on the scene.

Horn said the woman was home alone when the blaze erupted.

The cause of the fire has not yet been determined. The Alabama State Fire Marshals Office is leading the investigation.
