Honolulu police arrested a 15-year-old boy tonight in connection with a Sept. 19 shooting in Halawa that left another 15-year-old boy wounded.
Police said the victim and two other juvenile males were in the parking lot of Halawa Housing on Kohomua Street at about 2:30 a.m. when a male wearing all black clothing and a ski mask approached them after getting out of a vehicle. The suspect raised what appeared to be a handgun and fired several shots, striking the victim.
Detectives interviewed witnesses, reviewed surveillance footage and examined evidence before identifying the 15-year-old as one of the suspects. He was arrested at 8:35 p.m. Friday on suspicion of first-degree attempted murder and three counts of second-degree attempted murder. Charges will be sought with the Department of the Prosecuting Attorney.
