Kauai police say a 91-year-old man has died after being struck while bicycling in Kekaha this morning.
Police said at about 7 a.m., a 62-year-old woman driving a Toyota SUV eastbound on Elepaio Road struck the bicyclist while making a left turn onto Alae Road.
The man, who was traveling westbound on Elepaio, was not wearing a helmet at the time of the collision. Paramedics took him to Kauai Veterans Memorial Hospital, where he later died.
Police have not yet identified the man from Kekaha.
An investigation into the cause of the collision is still underway. Police do not believe speed and impairment are factors at this time.

This was Kauai County’s fifth traffic fatality this year compared to four at the same time last year, according to statistics from the Hawaii Department of Transportation.
