A former Cheshire police chief was sentenced after pleading guilty for soliciting sex from an undercover cop in a school parking lot.
Michael Alibozek, 53, of Cheshire, was sentenced to 6 months of probation after pleading guilty to one count of sexual conduct for a fee on Sept. 9, according to the Berkshire County District Attorney’s Office. He must also continue mental health services and pay a $250 fine and a $50 victim witness fee.
The night of Nov. 6, Alibozek was arrested in the parking lot of Hoosac Valley Middle and High School for soliciting sex after messaging with an undercover State Police detective online, the district attorney’s office said.
Following his arrest, Alibozek, who had served as police chief since 2022, was placed on paid administrative leave. His town-issued firearm and access to the police station were seized, officials said. He resigned in February, according to Western Mass News.
Alibozek is expected to reappear in Greenfield District Court on March 9, when his probationary period ends, court records show.
Alibozek’s attorney, Elizabeth Quigley, did not respond to a request for comment Sunday night.
