The co-owner of Pioneer Saloon, the historic 113-year-old bar lying in the desert about 40 miles southwest of Las Vegas, has set up shop back in town.
Stephanie “Mama Tess” Richter launched Mama Tess’s Artisan Kitchen earlier this summer in Southern Highlands. Richter and her husband, Stephen “Old Man River” Staats, are the proprietors of Pioneer Saloon.
From noon to 6 p.m. Saturday, the restaurant is celebrating its grand opening with an open house featuring free samples of some its signature dishes, many of which were launched at Pioneer Saloon.
The menu at Mama Tess’s offers soups, salads, sandwiches and burgers, house desserts and milkshakes.
“I wanted to create an inviting menu and ambiance, someplace that I would like to visit. The menu items are based on dishes that I make at home for family and friends, so Mama Tess’s is an extension of that,” Richter said in a recent announcement.
Mama Tess’s Artisan Kitchen is at 11350 Southern Highlands Parkway, Suite 125. Regular hours are 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday through Thursday 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. Fridayand Saturday, and 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. Sunday.Visit mamatess.com and follow @mamatessartisankitchen on Facebook and Instagram.
