A 71-year-old motorcyclist has died and a 70-year-old passenger was seriously injured in a three-vehicle crash on I-95 South in Westwood, the Norfolk District Attorney’s office announced Thursday.
The crash occurred around 9:25 p.m. Wednesday near the East Street exit, according to a statement from the DA’s office.
Harris Shippee, of Warwick, R.I., was driving a three-wheeled motorcycle when he collided with a Jeep Wrangler, the DA’s office said. The third vehicle involved was a Hyundai Sonata. The female passenger on Shippee’s motorcycle suffered serious injuries, officials said.
Shippee and the passenger were taken to a hospital in Boston, where Shippee was pronounced dead, according to the DA’s office.
Officials have not publicly identified the injured motorcycle passenger. No other injuries were reported, officials said.
