First and foremost, I’m saddened by the needless death of another immigrant, which could have been avoided. Actually, most of these deaths could have been avoided by common sense.
I don’t blame Sen. Susan Collins, President Trump or ICE. I feel most of the blame began back in 2016, when the Democrats decided Trump was illegitimate and opposed everything he tried to do, starting with building the wall, despite voting for something similar in 2006 under George W. Bush.
No, I blame the mayor of Lewiston, Gov. Janet Mills, most of the Democrats and especially the biased media.
When I was growing up, I was told to respect anyone with authority (police, ICE, military, etc.). Now everyone is whipped into a frenzy, calling President Trump “Hitler” and referring to ICE agents as Nazis or “Trump’s secret police.”
Remember when Vice President Kamala Harris was supposed to take control of our southern border for Biden? Harris ended up letting millions of illegal aliens into our country.
Just think if we still respected the law, and whenever someone got pulled over, instead of running (as seemingly happened in Biddeford), we complied as we are supposed to? What if everyone worked as a team after the election, like it used to be?
Today’s media and our education system no longer care about what is right, but how to push everyone’s button for their cause. Maybe it’s time we go back to what our Founding Fathers built us: a free country, under one God, with laws.
