Sharon (Kelly) Robbins
PORTLAND – Sharon (Kelly) Robbins, 82, passed away peacefully on July 12, 2026, at Mercy Hospital in Portland, surrounded by her loving family. Sharon was born in Portland on Dec. 19, 1943, the daughter of the late Peter Kelly Jr. and Alice (Thurlow) Kelly.
She was a graduate of Portland High School. She attended Gorham Teacher’s College (now University of Southern Maine). She was employed many years at Canal Bank as an Assistant Branch Manager. Sharon devoted much of her professional life to serving students and families as an educational technician with the Portland Public Schools. Her work reflected her lifelong commitment to helping others, advocating for those in need, and ensuring that every child was seen, supported, and encouraged to reach their full potential. She was known for her kindness, compassion, and unwavering dedication to those she served.
Above all, Sharon treasured her family. She found joy in celebrating life’s milestones, spending time with her grandchildren, and creating lasting memories with those she loved. Her warmth, generosity, and spirit touched countless lives and will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
Sharon was predeceased by her husband of 40 years, James M. Robbins; her son, Joseph Robbins; her sister, Nancy Kelly; and her brother, Peter Kelly.
She is lovingly remembered by her daughters, Judy Shields and Jean Robbins and her husband, Stephen Fearing; her cherished grandchildren, Caleb and Gabriel Shields, and Marion and Christopher Fearing; her sisters, Mary Pinkham and her husband Ken, and Patsy Music; as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. on Monday, July 20, 2026, at St. Pius X Church, 492 Ocean Avenue, Portland, with graveside prayers to follow at Calvary Cemetery, 1461 Broadway, South Portland.
