It’s going to be a “Smooth” ride into Thanksgiving for Carlos Santana at House of Blues.
See what we did there? The rock great is adding eight shows in November to his Strip residency. The specific dates are Nov. 4, 5, 7, 8, 11, 12, 14 and 15 (tickets are on sale at 10 a.m. Pacific time Saturday at Ticketmaster.com).
Santana’s previously scheduled shows from Sept. 16-27 are on sale now.
Concert promoter Live Nation Las Vegas, which owns House of Blues, has confirmed the new dates.
With equal measures of optimism and education, we expect the 78-year-old guitar great to be extended for up to three years at House of Blues. Be on the lookout for that announcement.
Santana is currently touring with co-headlining rock legends the Doobie Brothers through his next House of Blues dates.
Since opening in May 2012, Santana has performed more than 300 shows at the Mandalay Bay music hall, by far more than any artist.
In an exclusive interview in January at his Las Vegas headquarters, Santana said his objective has remained unchanged since his Woodstock days. He tours with bands, such as the Doobie Brothers, who share his vision.
“We just want to bring happiness, unity,” Santana said. “I really believe that it’s important to continue to share with people our resonance sounds, the vibration that brings people into a place where they believe that it’s possible to make a difference on this planet.”
