Japanese bakery Beard Papa’s, known for puff pastries, closes its only Vegas outlet

A Japanese bakery with locations across the U.S. is closing its sole Las Vegas location.

Owner Yuji Hirota opened Beard Papa’s opened in Osaka in 1999. It has since launched franchises in Arizona, California, Georgia, Massachusetts, Minnesota, New York, North Carolina, Oregon, Pennsylvania, Texas and Washington.

The bakery posted a thank-you message on Instagram, announcing the closure:

“Thank you Las Vegas for an amazing time! Beard Papa’s Las Vegas will be closing on Thursday, May 21st, 2026! Thank you for your warm support over the years!”

Beard Papa’s is known for its puff pastries. To order, guests pick a flavor for the shell ranging from original to green tea, Oreo, ube, s’mores and others, then pick a filling of vanilla, green tea or chocolate. Beard Papa’s also offers creme brulee, fondant cake and Japanese cheesecake.

The Las Vegas location is at 7325 S. Rainbow Blvd., Suite 110.
