Hawaii island police said a man has died after colliding into a four-door sedan on his dirt bike on Wednesday night in Hilo.
Police responded to the crash at 10:24 p.m. at West Kawili and Kinoole streets.
Investigators said the man on a black and yellow Suzuki dirt bike was traveling westbound on West Kawili Street when he crashed into a 2012 Nissan Versa turning left into a parking lot.
The dirt bike operator was unresponsive at the scene. Despite lifesaving measures, he was pronounced dead at 10:45 p.m.
The 22-year-old woman driving the sedan, and her two passengers, were taken to Hilo Benioff Medical Center for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries.
Police are withholding the identity of the dirt bike driver pending positive identification and notification of his next of kin. An autopsy has been ordered to determine his exact cause of death.

Police believe speed is a contributing factor at this time. An investigation by the East Hawaii Traffic Enforcement Unit is ongoing.
This marked Hawaii County’s fifth traffic fatality so far this year, compared to nine at the same time last year.
