What do you get when a bunch of Phish fans stream into a vaunted Las Vegas blues club?
An only-in-Vegas jam session.
The OG Sand Dollar Lounge on Polaris and Spring Mountain is live-streaming Phish’s shows from Sphere throughout the band’s run through May 2. The performances are broadcast on all of the club’s big screens and the audio plays through the club.
The club simply runs Phish’s own livestream on its official YouTube page. There is no cover, so it is a big club party rather than a ticketed event. Limited to 21 and overs, of course.
Every Phish performance starts at 8 p.m. Opening bands are brought in, with Carlos Guerrero & Friends on Friday and the People’s Dead (the venerable Dead tribute band out of Ventura, Calif.) on Saturday.
I caught the scene last weekend and was impressed by the vibe, the technology… And also the pizza. Try it.
