Celine Dion’s new single is in French and was made in Las Vegas.
“Dansons,” translated as “Let’s Dance,” was released Thursday night Pacific time. Dion’s reps have confirmed she recorded the song at Studio at the Palms. Dion maintains a home in Lake Las Vegas.
Dion had been recording at the studio and working on her voice in the run-up to her announced comeback shows in Paris in September and October. She will headline at the Paris La Défense Arena, set to host 16 shows with a capacity of 30,000.
Dion has recorded in the Studio at the Palms over the years, including parts of the 2014 album “Loved Me Back to Life,” the dance track “Flying on My Own” in 2019, and the French song “On s’est aimé à cause” in 2015.
A lyric video accompanying the new song, filmed in the streets of Paris, was released alongside the track.
Sung in French, the slow ballad is Dion’s first new music since her 2019 album, “Courage.” She also performed five new songs for the 2023 romance drama “Love Again,” in which she co-starred.
Dion has reunited with famed French singer-songwriter Jean-Jacques Goldman, with whom she collaborated on “D’eux,” the 1995 album that became the best-selling French-language album of all time.
The two later teamed on the French-language “Encore un soir” in 2016, released shortly after the death of Dion’s husband, René Angélil.
Dion has reportedly been rehearsing for the new production, to be performed in English and French, at undisclosed locations around Paris.
Studio at the Palms opened in 2005, under then-director Zoe Thrall, who now runs the Hideout in Henderson. Under Thrall’s stewardship, several recording stars used the multistudio annex while visiting, on tour or in residency in Las Vegas. Katy Perry, Usher, the Killers, Beyonce, Maroon 5, Lady Gaga, Eminem, Michael Jackson, Britney Spears, Imagine Dragons and Jamie Foxx have all recorded in the studio.
