Another longtime Las Vegas breakfast spot has closed.
Squeeze In, a brand that began in 1974 with a tiny storefront in Truckee, California, where diners had to “squeeze in,” has shuttered its outpost on South Fort Apache Road just south of West Tropicana Avenue. This location opened about 10 years ago this summer and marked the brand’s first foray into Vegas; the restaurant appears to have closed sometime in the past three weeks or so.
Squeeze In, 5165 S. Fort Apache Road, Suite 195, served the signature omelets that anchor the menu at all Squeeze Ins, as well as eggs Benedicts, scrambles, breakfast sandwiches and burritos, French toast, pancakes, cinnamon rolls and other morning standards. A second Squeeze In on South Eastern Avenue near Henderson closed in 2025.
Food Network win
The Squeeze In brand competed on “Throwdown With Bobby Flay,” a Food Network show, in 2010, and its top-selling Racy Tracy omelet (bacon, sautéed mushrooms, jack cheese, avocado slices on top, mushroom sauce on the side) bested the celebrated chef. A Spanish Flay omelet (chorizo, potatoes, jack cheese, red bell pepper, smoked paprika, side of tomato pesto) pays tribute to the chef.
Today, besides the original Truckee restaurant near Lake Tahoe, Squeeze In has another California location in Modesto, six stores in Northern Nevada (including three in Reno), and one in San Antonio. A sign strung across the front of the former Fort Apache restaurant indicates Pasta & Pomo is coming soon.
In recent weeks, the locally owned Egg Works family of breakfast restaurants closed its South Rainbow Boulevard and West Flamingo Road locations, both after almost 30 years. Another breakfast restaurant, Omelette Cafe, quickly replaced the West Flamingo spot.
