The teen is expected to face multiple charges for allegedly shooting another boy in the foot, police said.
A 15-year-old boy was arrested Monday for allegedly shooting another boy in the foot outside of a Dorchester Burger King, police said.
While on patrol Monday afternoon, Boston police officers heard an apparent gunshot in the area of the Burger King. Police were then dispatched to 100 Washington St., the restaurant’s address, for a reported person with a gun, the department said in a press release.
First responders found a boy suffering from a gunshot wound to the foot. The victim was taken to a nearby hospital with non-life threatening injuries, the Boston Police Department said.
“Officers located ballistic evidence in the parking lot of the Burger King,” police wrote.
Officers determined the suspect fled towards Vaughn Avenue on a black moped, according to police.
Police found a teenager behind 19 Vaughan Ave. The boy resembled the suspect’s description, and a moped covered by a tarp was nearby, the department said.
The boy ran once he spotted officers, but police chased him down and arrested him, BPD wrote.
While searching behind 19 Vaughan Ave., officers found a handgun loaded with four rounds of ammunition, the department said.
The 15-year-old is expected to be arraigned in Boston Juvenile Court on charges of unlawful possession of a firearm, carrying a loaded firearm, unlawful possession of ammunition, assault and battery by discharge of a firearm, and possession of a firearm in the commission of a felony, BPD said.
Police did not release identifying information about the 15-year-old they arrested because he is a minor.
