Free live music at Fremont Street Experience often taken for granted

The Fremont Street Experience live music scene is often taken for granted. The Canopy has for years been home to Vegas bands playing for free on three stages.

FSE is alive with “90s Block Party,” the free, nostalgia-laced event, at 6 p.m. Saturday.

On Friday, the tunes start at 2 p.m. with house music on the Main Street stage, followed by a night of EDM. No Proof is at 8 p.m. on the First Street Stage, followed by Kings Kings, Michael Richter and Bling until 2 a.m. FSE vets the Tony Marques Band will perform at 8 p.m., followed by Alter Ego at 11 p.m.

A typical night, in short. The rate to park at FSE’s garage is $4 per hour, with a daily maximum rate of $25. The clearance height is 7 feet, or the same height as a Zowie Bowie leg kick.

And that band is up from 8 to 11 p.m. Saturday on the Third Street Stage, between the D Las Vegas and the Four Queens, where the party never stops.
