Eagles playoff path: Bears await in divisional round if Philly beats 49ers

The Philadelphia Eagles know who they’ll face in the NFC divisional playoff round — that is, if the defending Super Bowl champions make it there.

If the Eagles beat the San Francisco 49ers in Sunday’s NFC Wild Card round, they’ll face the Chicago Bears at Soldier Field in the divisional round next weekend.

That potential matchup was solidified by Saturday’s first-round playoff results.

The No. 5 seed Rams beat the No. 4 seed Carolina Panthers, 34-31, in Charlotte. Then, the No. 2 seed Bears came back to beat the No. 7 seed Green Bay Packers, 31-27, at Soldier Field.

The Bears provided viewers with an unbelievable second half. The Packers led, 21-3, at half. But Chicago outscored Green Bay, 28-6, in the second half with 25 fourth-quarter points.

Next up, if the No. 3 seed Eagles beat the No. 6 seed 49ers on Sunday, they will face Caleb Williams and the Bears in the next round in Chicago.

That would send the Rams to Seattle to face their NFC West rivals in the second round.

Philadelphia is hoping to take down San Francisco at home again in the playoffs. The Eagles are 5.5-point favorites against the 49ers, according to FanDuel Sportsbook.

The Eagles and 49ers will kick off at 4:30 p.m. on Sunday, airing nationally on FOX.
