Girls basketball
Wilde Lake 56, Mt. Hebron 44: The Wildecats (6-1, 4-0 Summit Division) won their fifth game in a row. Quinn Corkeron scored 16 points, including four 3-pointers, while Trinity Chappell made five 3-pointers and finished with 15. For Mt. Hebron (4-3, 3-2 Summit), Veronica Jensen and Pearl Prasartkarnka each scored 14 points.
Howard 59, Long Reach 30: The Lions (4-2, 2-1 Sierra Division) had a well-balanced offense in the win. Alana Harrison (14), Brynn Bartlett (13) and Paige Watson (10) all scored in double figures. For Long Reach (1-5, 0-3 Sierra), Sydney Nance scored 11 points, while Haley Ruddy scored 10.
Reservoir 40, Marriotts Ridge 23: The Gators (6-0, 2-0 Summit Division) remained undefeated with a strong defensive performance. Blythe Pietryka scored a career-high 19 points in the win, while Sydney Shelton added eight. For Marriotts Ridge (4-3, 2-2 Summit), Riley Jenkins had seven points, while Katie Leader had six points and three steals.
Oakland Mills 51, Hammond 13: The Scorpions (5-1) remained undefeated in county with the win. Lena Smartt led a balanced scoring output with 13 points, while Chloe Grenway (11), Adey Alexander (11) and Jeriah Shipp (10) also scored in double figures. For Hammond (2-4), Alexis Wright had six points.
Glenelg 40, Centennial 26: The Gladiators (4-0) continued their winning ways as MJ Dabiri scored a season-high 18 points, while Stephanie Bunker added eight.
Boys basketball
Mt. Hebron 62, Wilde Lake 50: The Vikings (5-2, 2-2 Summit Division) won their third straight game. Jaxson Sherman and Noel Igwe scored 11 points, while Grady Kent provided a spark off the bench with nine points on a trio of 3-pointers in the second quarter.
Oakland Mills 61, Hammond 54: The Scorpions (5-0) remained Howard County’s lone unbeaten as Daniel Ndiritu scored a career-high 25 points. Hayes Bishop added 13 points, while JD McCoy scored 10.
Marriotts Ridge 81, Reservoir 37: The Mustangs (6-1, 4-0 Summit Division) dominated with a season-high in points. Aaron Hammann led the way with 20 points, followed by Sam Tatarov (16), Blake Willingham (15) and George Klaus. For Reservoir (2-4, 0-2 Summit), Jayden Jackson had seven points.
Meade 69, Atholton 27: The Raiders (3-2) struggled in a tough non-conference game as Isaiah Johnson scored seven points.
Glenelg 55, Centennial 52: The Gladiators (2-2) won in a tight contest. Steven Mbuyamba scored a team-high 16 points, while Siyi Jolayemi scored 12 points. For Centennial (1-5), Devin Johnson scored 20 points as Ryan Doody added 14.
River Hill 56, Guilford Park 49: The Hawks (5-2) won their second straight game as Mason Rooths led the way with 17 points. Meanwhile, Jaden Moore and Rylan Graves both finished with 11 points.
