A Baltimore police officer was hospitalized Sunday after being assaulted by a man in Federal Hill, according to the Baltimore Police Department.
Around 3:17 p.m., a Southern District officer was on foot patrol in the unit block of East Cross Street when he saw people involved in a physical fight.
As the officer tried to break up the fight, he was assaulted by one of the involved suspects, according to authorities.
The officer and a security guard were able to gain control, arresting a 37-year-old man, a 44-year-old man and an unidentified adult male.
Police said the officer was transported to a local hospital with a non-life-threatening injury.
