The NWS issued a Special Weather Statement that predicts a cold front in the area Wednesday evening will bring high winds, possibly reaching 40 to 50 mph, and potential storminess. These winds will be strong enough to move light objects and cause tree damage, as well as potential power outages and difficult driving conditions.
The wind will move across the northern Shenandoah Valley and northern Maryland through 11 p.m., the Baltimore and Washington areas between 9:30 p.m. and 11 p.m., and Southern Maryland from 10:30 p.m. to 12:30 a.m. Thursday
Clear skies could return overnight, when lows fall to the mid-40s.

Thursday should feature more sunshine and cooler air, with a high around 59 and a low around 42.
Partly sunny skies are expected Friday with a high forecast near 63. The week’s only remaining chance of rain arrives Friday night, and temperatures could settle around 54.
The weekend looks bright, with mostly sunny skies predicted for Saturday and a high of 70. Saturday night could be partly cloudy with a low around 51.
Sunday might bring a few scattered showers, with partly sunny skies and a high near 68, before dropping to the low 40s at night.
