SOUTH PORTLAND — Down a goal at halftime, the South Portland boys soccer team scored three goals in less than 13 minutes to beat Marshwood, 3-1, in a Class A South quarterfinal on Wednesday.
Casey Corcoran tied the game when he ran hard to the far post to tap in a crossing pass by Bossay Ditanduka with 25:39 left to play.
Freshman Sam Linscott put the Red Riots ahead three minutes later, jumping on a ball that popped loose after a direct kick strike by Anthony Nielsen.
Cam Ellis finished the scoring in the 68th minute when he worked a give-and-go with Ditanduka on the left flank.
No. 4 South Portland improved to 12-3 and will play at No. 1 Scarborough in the semifinal, likely on Saturday.
No. 5 Marshwood (10-5-1) struck first in the 14th minute when Kian Denault converted after Robert Williams had put a header off a corner kick to the near post.
