Sounders players Georgi Minoungou, Nouhou and Snyder Brunell have been called up to international duty for the October FIFA window.
Minoungou (Burkina Faso), Nouhou (Cameroon) and Snyder (United States U-19s) will join their respective teams and will miss Seattle’s home match against Real Salt Lake on Saturday.
Additionally, midfielder Cristian Roldan was named to the U.S. men’s national team roster for a pair of friendlies this week and will not be available Saturday, the Sounders’ final home match of the regular season.
HOCKEY
Everett Silvertips forward Matias Vanhanen was named the WHL Player of the Week, the league announced Monday.
Vanhanen, an 18-year-old product of Nokia, Finland, tallied 10 points (two goals, eight assists) and a plus-eight rating in three games as the Silvertips rattled off three consecutive wins to surge to the top of the WHL standings.
