Sounders FC midfielder Cristian Roldan has been called up to the United States men’s national team for friendlies against Ecuador on Oct. 10 and Australia on Oct. 14, coach Mauricio Pochettino announced Thursday.
This marks the second consecutive call-up for Roldan, who departs for international duty after Saturday’s home match against Portland. He will miss the Oct. 11 home game against Real Salt Lake.
Roldan, 30, has 42 all-competition appearances for the Rave Green in 2025, tallying a team-high 11 assists and two goals.
Roldan has 39 career international caps and was part of the USMNT squad at the 2022 FIFA World Cup.

• Strong Racing announced the driver J.Michael Kelly signed an extension to continue racing with the unlimited hydroplane team in 2026. Kelly has won two national titles in the U-8 Beacon Electric. He won the season-ending race in San Diego last month, setting an H1 Unlimited Hydroplane Series record for a 2.5-mile course with a five-lap average of 157.818 mph in the final heat.

• Washington State shook off a slow start and roared back to claim a 17-25, 25-19, 25-12, 25-17 road win over Seattle University (6-8, 0-3) at the Redhawk Center, keeping the Cougars (9-4, 3-0) unbeaten in West Coast Conference play.
• Host Seattle Pacific (6-7, 1-4 GNAC) secured a 24-26, 25-17, 25-18, 25-23 victory over Northwest Nazarene (1-10, 0-4) at Brougham Pavilion.
