The morning commute will reportedly have the heaviest rain with most areas seeing 1 to 2 inches of rainfall in one hour, but up to 4 inches in some areas.
Boston, Quincy, Brockton, and other South Shore communities are under a flood watch until 9 a.m., according to the National Weather Service.
Rhode Island, eastern Massachusetts, and parts of northern Connecticut are under a flash flood advisory until 4 p.m., the agency’s Boston/Norton branch shared in a weather alert around 2 a.m.
At 6 a.m., the “Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms producing heavy rain across the warned area.”

South central and southeastern counties were under a flash flood watch from 2 p.m yesterday, to 2 a.m. this morning.
