Thursday, June 26

Rooftop Cinema: “The Wild Robot” at 100 Center St. // Time for another movie night with a view. Next in the lineup for the Rooftop Cinema series is this hit family-friendly movie (based on the beloved book) following the adventures of a lost robot that becomes one with nature and makes lots of forest friends along the way. Popcorn, water and Stone’s Throw brews will be available for purchase, and don’t forget to BYO chairs and blankets. Showtime is at sunset, or about 8:15 p.m. Learn more here.

Friday, June 27

SoMa Main Street Mile on South Main // Road runners, this one’s for you. Now in its second year, this one-mile race loops through the SoMa neighborhood so you can take in the summer sights, plus gives you the chance to peruse local health and wellness vendors. All finishers will receive a medal, with the fastest runners taking home up to $1,000. The first wave takes off at 7:40 p.m. Learn more here.

One-Year Anniversary Party at GiGi’s Lounge // Keeping the fun in SoMa, this restaurant/bar is celebrating its first year in business in monochromatic style. The bash encourages all white attire and promises a stellar lineup of local music artists and DJs. Doors open at 8 p.m. Learn more here.

 

Saturday, June 28

Sixth Anniversary Celebration at Tacos Godoy // We’ll raise a marg to this. The WLR restaurant is blowing out the birthday candles with free tacos, drink specials and more. Operating hours are 9 a.m. – 9 p.m. Learn more here.

Faulkner Lake Orchard Peach Festival // Goin’ to the country, gonna eat a lot of peaches. The NLR farm’s annual peach fest (and feast) is back offering up lawn games, vendors and tons of sweet, peachy treats. It starts at 10 a.m. Learn more here.

Fish Fry at So Full Cafe // Hope you’re still hungry. The restaurant at 423 Bond Ave. and Black Swan Catering are teaming up to host a fish fry (with chicken, too) benefiting The Van’s efforts to meet the needs of unsheltered Arkansans. Get a taste from 10 a.m. – 3 p.m. Learn more here.

Saturday Shop Vintage Market at The Bernice Garden // Back in SoMa, the vintage vibes are back at Bernice in the June edition of this recurring neighborhood event. Expect vendors with throwback fashions, decor and art. Come shop noon – 6 p.m. Learn more here.

“Delta Voices” at the Arkansas Museum of Fine Arts // In the off years between its “Delta Triennial” exhibition, AMFA collaborates with museums across the Delta to highlight regional artists. This weekend’s programming features an artist talk, workshops and demonstrations with David Andree, Mona Cliff and Greta Kresse. Learn more here.

Classic Movies at Ron Robinson Theater // The popcorn is flowing once again at the CALS theater in the River Market. Up first is “To Wong Foo: Thanks for Everything, Julie Newmar” at 7 p.m. Then on Saturday is “Kung Fu Panda” at 12:30 p.m., “National Theatre Live Presents: Present Laughter” at 3 p.m. and (the extended cut of) “The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King” at 7 p.m. Learn more here. Speaking of chill: How to Hit Every Splash Pad in the Metro

River Market Live at the First Security Amphitheater // Get into the groove, downtown. The popular summer concert series is back, bringing free shows to River Market crowds. Friday – Sunday, June 27-29

Paws at the Net at Rebsamen Tennis Center // It’s a love-love situation. This three-day, USTA-sanctioned, downright adorable tennis tournament benefits Central Arkansas Rescue Effort for Animals. Attendees will enjoy matches, food, drinks and will even get to meet some of CARE’s rescued dogs that are up for adoption. Learn more here.
