2 Centennial nursing home employees accused of elder abuse

A Centennial nursing home employee was arrested Wednesday on suspicion of elder abuse and a warrant is out for a second employee’s arrest, sheriff’s officials said.

Patience Jackson, a 33-year-old certified nursing assistant at Orchard Park Health Care Center, was arrested on investigation of three felony charges, including criminal negligence, crimes against an at-risk person and complicity, according to the Arapahoe County Sheriff’s Office.

Investigators also issued an arrest warrant for Zainab Namale, a licensed practical nurse at the same facility, sheriff’s officials said.

Jackson and Namale lied about how a 92-year-old nursing home resident broke her leg and worked to cover up what really happened, sheriff’s officials said.

Sky Ridge Medical Center employees told investigators that the victim’s injuries — two broken bones in her lower leg — were not consistent with what Jackson and Namale wrote in their nursing home report.
