After falling to Coastal Carolina in extra innings 7-6 Friday night, Auburn baseball returns to Plainsman Park this afternoon for a chance to extend the super regionals one more game.
A Tigers win will result in a winner take all game three on Sunday. If Coastal Carolina wins, it will be their first trip to the College World Series since 2016.
Auburn’s bullpen totaled 11 strikeouts in game one. However, the Chanticleers hit four home runs to extend its winning streak to 22 games.
“We have confidence and resilience,” Auburn coach Butch Thompson said. “We have to put our head down, get some sleep and get back out here. Quick turnaround, get back out here and do everything we can to try to win a baseball game and extend the season.”
