EUGENE — Dez Patmon’s walk-off three-run home run punched Oregon’s ticket to host an NCAA Super Regional.
Patmon, who scored the game-tying run after a leadoff triple in the sixth, crushed the first pitch she saw in the seventh to send the Np. 16 seed Ducks to a 10-7 comeback win over Stanford in the Eugene Regional final Sunday night in front of a berserk 2,448 at Jane Sanders Stadium.
Oregon (51-8) will host Liberty, which upset top-seed Texas A&M to win the College Station Regional, in a best-of-three super regional series next weekend.
Staci Chambers took over in the circle with Oregon trailing 7-3 with one out in the top of the third and put forth by far her most dominant performance at UO. The Cal State Fullerton transfer allowed two hits and one walk over 4 1/3 shutout innings, retiring 11 straight at one point to keep the Ducks in striking distance.
Emma Cox hit a two-run home run in the bottom of the third to make it 7-5, then plated one run in the fifth and sixth to tie it.
Kedre Luschar reached on a swinging strikeout and wild pitch, stole second, then scored on a wild pitch plus obstruction on the third baseman to make it 7-6 after five.
Patmon opened the sixth with a triple off the wall in right and Kai Luschar later brought her in with a single in front of the plate to tie it.
Chambers exited with runners on the corners and two outs and Elise Sokolsky got Joie Economides (2 for 4, two home runs and seven RBIs), who homered off of her on Saturday, to ground out to third to end the top of the seventh.
In the bottom of the inning, Sinicki drew a one-out walk, then stole second and advanced to third on a wild pitch to put the winning run 60 feet away. Stanford (42-13) walked Cox and elected to pitch to Patmon, who demolished the first pitch to left to send Oregon to its second super regional in three seasons and first at home since 2018.
The Cardinal loaded the bases with one out in the first. Lyndsey Grein got a pop out to second and had the third out with Economides popping up in foul territory, but the ball went off of catcher Emma Cox’s glove. One pitch later Economides smacked a grand slam to left.
Cox and Patmon drew back-to-back walks to open the bottom of the second and Katie Flannery hit a three-run homer to put Oregon on the board.
The Cardinal got the runs back immediately, as Economides hit a three-run shot and ended the day for Grein. Oregon’s ace allowed seven runs, three earned, on six hits and two hit batters with two strikeouts over 2 1/3 innings.
Oregon responded in the bottom of the frame with Cox cranking a two-run homer to make it 7-5 after three.
