COLLEGE FOOTBALL
William & Mary announced on Wednesday the addition of four games against FBS opponents on future schedules as well as a five-year extension with rival Richmond.
The Tribe will play Duke in 2026, Virginia in 2027, Wisconsin in 2028 and Stanford in 2030.
The Capital Cup series against Richmond has been extended through the 2030 season.
W&M head coach Mike London has led an FCS team to victory over an FBS opponent three times: with Richmond over Duke (2009), with Howard over UNLV (2017) and with the Tribe over Charlotte (2022).

No. 3 Lynchburg rolls past CNU
Bryce Demory hit a grand slam and finished 3 for 4 with six RBIs as No. 3 Lynchburg defeated Christopher Newport 14-7 on Wednesday in Lynchburg.
Conner Moore went 4 for 5 with a homer, three RBIs and three runs for the Hornets (29-5).
Josh Reinhold and Aaron Maxie each went 2 for 4 with an RBI to pace the Captains (17-15).
VCU 16, Old Dominion 13: Sean Swenson and Will Henson each hit grand slams as the Rams outlasted the Monarchs in a slugfest Tuesday night at War Memorial Stadium in Hampton.
Old Dominion (12-22) actually outhit VCU (12-24) by a 15-9 margin, but the Rams used a six-run sixth inning to take a break a 9-9 tie and move ahead 15-9. The Monarchs scored single runs in the sixth and eighth innings and two in the bottom of the ninth, but it wasn’t enough.
Scotty Young hit a grand slam for ODU, sparking a six-run second inning. He finished 2 for 3 with four RBIs. Maverick Stallings went 3 for 5 with an RBI and three runs.
Longwood 8, William & Mary 6: Mikey Urbaniak hit an RBI single to cap a three-run seventh inning as the Lancers rallied past the Tribe on Tuesday night in Williamsburg.
Lucas Carmichael hit a three-run homer and finished 3 for 4 with five RBIs for William & Mary (13-23).
COLLEGE SOFTBALL
VWU splits two with Bridgewater
Lauren Bible tossed a four-hitter to improve to 18-0 on the season, but Virginia Wesleyan had to settle for a doubleheader split against Bridgewater at home Wednesday.
The Marlins are 31-2-1 after a 4-1 victory in the first game and a 5-4 loss in the second game.
Morgan Tucker had two hits and an RBI for VWU in the first game.
Bridgewater (24-12) trailed 4-0 in the second game, but rallied three runs in the sixth inning and single runs in the seventh and eighth innings. Lily Moyers hit an RBI single in the eighth for the go-ahead run.
WOMEN’S COLLEGE GOLF
ODU’s Gonzalez 5th in SBC tourney
Old Dominion’s Lucia Gonzalez shot a 1-under 71 to finish in fifth place in individual stroke play at the Sun Belt Championship on Wednesday at Lakewood Golf Club in Point Clear, Alabama.
Gonzalez, a Monterrey, Mexico, native, earned a spot on the all-tournament team for the second straight year.
The Monarchs’ Puneet Bajwa also carded a final-round 71 and finished tied for 10th.
ODU tied for eighth along with Arkansas State in the team competition. Georgia Southern won the tournament.
