South Alabama cornerback Ricky Fletcher enters NCAA transfer portal

South Alabama cornerback Ricky Fletcher has entered the NCAA transfer portal, AL.com has confirmed via a source.

A redshirt junior with two years of eligibility remaining, Fletcher missed all of 2024 with a back injury but participated in spring practice. The Durant, Miss., native started all 13 games for the Jaguars in 2023, finishing with 36 tackles and 12 pass breakups.

The 6-foot-3, 197-pound Fletcher is the third South Alabama starter to enter the transfer portal in the current cycle, along with quarterback Gio Lopez and offensive tackle Malachi Carney. Three other starters — running back Kentrel Bullock, wide receiver Devin Voisin and offensive tackle Jordan Davis — are expected to stay with the Jaguars.

The transfer portal remains open for new entries until April 26. Players already in the portal may choose their destination schools at any time.

South Alabama went 7-6 in 2024, its third consecutive winning season.
