NEW YORK — Will there be baseball at Citi Field on Saturday? That’s the question surrounding the Mets’ second home game of the season.
Neither the Mets nor the Toronto Blue Jays took batting practice. The tarp has been on the field for most of the day as steady rain has fallen in the New York City metropolitan area.
The rain is supposed to taper off around 6:00 p.m., according to The Weather Channel, meaning there shouldn’t be a problem starting the game. The chances of rain between 7:00 p.m. and 8:00 p.m. is currently hovering around 11%.
It’s beginning at 9:00 p.m. when the Mets might have a problem.
