Little Rock is losing a tasty establishment. The Bagel Shop announced on Monday that it will be closing its doors on Wednesday, April 30.
The restaurant opened in August of 2023 and has since been a vibrant addition to the SoMa neighborhood. Known for its from-scratch baking and welcoming atmosphere, the shop also featured pop-up dinners, breakfast burrito specials and special menus like Rex’s, which will remain open for dinner Thursday-Saturday until close.
“This has been an incredibly difficult decision for Trevor and I,” co-owner Myles Roberson says. “We poured our hearts into The Bagel Shop, and it’s been a truly remarkable journey. However, despite our best efforts and various pop-up initiatives, we’ve faced ongoing challenges that have made it unsustainable to continue.”
The Bagel Shop cites low weekday traffic and a steady decline in sales, combined with rising ingredient costs and high operational expenses, as the main factors in its decision to close.
“We are immensely grateful for the support of our customers and the friendships we’ve made over the years,” co-owner Trevor Papsadora says. “The Bagel Shop has been more than just a bakery; it’s been a platform for us to grow, connect with the community and share our passion for good food. We’re thankful for the memories and the opportunities this venture has provided.”
Visit The Bagel Shop during normal business hours Tuesday-Friday from 7:30 a.m. – 2 p.m., Saturday-Sunday from 8 a.m.- 2 p.m. and during dinner hours on Thursday from 5-8 p.m. and Friday-Saturday from 5-9 p.m.
