No. 3 Hawaii defeats Rockhurst in 4 in volleyball nightcap

Hawaii Rainbow Warriors Louis Sakanoko put down a kill against Rockhurst Hawks Wesley Yusk during an NCAA men’s volleyball match on Wednesday at the Bankoh Arena at Stan Sheriff Center.

Kristian Titriyski and Adrien Roure put down 15 kills apiece to cap a long day for the No. 3 Hawaii men’s volleyball team, which completed a doubleheader with a 25-21, 25-19, 23-25, 25-13 win over Rockhurst tonight.

Bankoh Arena at Stan Sheriff Center, which saw 3,721 people through the turnstile for the day, hosted Roberts Wesleyan in the first match, which Hawaii won in three sets.

More than 10 hours after the first serve of the first match, Hawaii put away the Hawks (1-3) to improve to 5-1 for the season.

Libero Quintin Greenidge had a match-high 10 digs.

UH won despite committing 24 service errors. Eight of those areas came in the third set, which Hawaii lost. It was the first time this season the Rainbow Warriors dropped a set in a match they won.

Hawaii will play both teams again on Friday in reverse order with Rockhurst the opponent in the opening match at 11 a.m.
