Meet the 2025 All-Tidewater Football team

ABE GOLDBLATT ALL-TIDEWATER PLAYER OF THE YEAR

Keon Johnson

Lake Taylor running back/linebacker

5-9, 210, senior

• Johnson was the Class 3 Offensive Player of the Year after he rushed for 2,319 yards and 42 touchdowns — both South Hampton Roads single-season records.

• He rushed for 358 yards and five touchdowns during the state tournament to help lead the Titans to the Class 3 state title.

• He also was first-team all-state on defense and finished with more than 100 tackles, 23 sacks, three interceptions, one forced fumble and scored two defensive touchdowns.

Donovan “Domo” Everette

Maury quarterback

6-2, 170, sophomore

• In his first year as a starter, he helped lead an offense that averaged 50.4 point a game and led the Commodores to the Class 5 state title.

• Everette was the Class 5 Offensive Player of the Year. He threw for 3,513 passing yards with 46 touchdowns and eight interceptions. He also rushed for 533 yards and added 11 touchdowns. His 4,047 total yards is sixth best in South Hampton Roads history, and his 58 total touchdowns is second.

Lonnie Andrews

Oscar Smith quarterback

6-1, 185, junior 

• Andrews, a two-time first-team All-Tidewater selection, helped lead the Tigers to back-to-back Class 6 state titles.

• He completed 181 of 306 passes for 3,291 yards and 43 touchdowns with 11 interceptions and was named first-team all-state.

• He committed to Virginia

Tayshawn Branche

Maury running back

5-10, 190, junior

• Branche helped lead the Commodores to the Class 5 state title, scoring 12 touchdowns during the postseason.

• He rushed for 2,255 yards and 28 touchdowns and was named first-team all-state.

Amari Pryear

Bethel running back

5-7, 185, senior

• Pryear, a two-time All-Tidewater selection, rushed for 2,035 yards and 37 touchdowns to help lead the Bruins to their first playoff victory since 2008.

• Pryear, named first-team all-state, finished his career with more than 4,800 yards and 80 touchdowns.

• Signed with Hampton

Travis Johnson

• Johnson, a two-time first-team All-Tidewater selection, was the Class 6 Offensive Player of the Year and finished with 56 receptions for 1,258 yards and 15 touchdowns to help lead the Tigers to a second straight state title.

• Over the past two seasons, he has caught 119 passes for 2,210 yards and 32 touchdowns.

• Signed with Michigan

Jahvon Wiggins

Maury wide receiver

5-10, 165

• Wiggins, a first-team all-state pick, had 1,590 total yards, 15 touchdowns and averaged 21.5 yards per touch to help lead the Commodores to the Class 5 state title.

• He had three different games with three touchdowns or more.

• Signed with William & Mary

Nyquan Harris

Maury lineman

6-0, 250, freshman

• Helped lead an offense that gained more than 6,800 yards and average 457 yards a game to help lead the Commodores to the Class 5 state title.

• Harris, who already has an offer from Marshall, was named first-team all-state.

• “Makes everything go with our unit up front. When in doubt, run his way.” — Maury coach Dyrri McCain.

Kaleb Shortridge

Lake Taylor lineman

6-0, 275, senior

• Shortridge was a key member on an offense that won the Class 3 state title.

• He was named first-team all-state, first-team all-region and first-team All-Eastern District.

Dory Lewis-Wilson

Oscar Smith lineman

6-2, 295, senior

• Lewis-Wilson was a key member on an offense that won the Class 6 state title.

• Two-time All-Tidewater and two-time all-state.

• Signed with Old Dominion

Thomas Wilder

Green Run lineman

6-7, 295, senior

• Two-time All-Tidewater and two-time first-team all-state.

• Signed with Virginia Tech

Andrew Buckley

Lafayette lineman

6-0, 225, senior

• He is a three-time all-state and all-region selection.

• He was a key member for the Rams offense that won the Region A tite.

Carter Jones

Poquoson lineman

6-6, 290, junior

• Two-time All-Tidewater selection.

• A four-star lineman who has more than 40 offers, including Alabama, Ohio State, Georgia and Florida.

Brycen Widhalm

Cox kicker

6-3, 170, senior

• Two-time All-Tidewater.

• Kicked an area-best nine field goals, including five over 40 yards and a 51-yarder, which is the fifth on the Hampton Roads all-time list.

• Signed with Army

FIRST-TEAM DEFENSE

Corey Sanderlin

Indian River lineman

6-0, 295, senior

• Three-time All-Tidewater selection

• First-team all-state on defense and second-team all-state on offense.

• Finished with 81 tackles, including 30 for loss, six sacks and four forced fumbles.

Lincoln Halliday

Oscar Smith lineman

6-3, 240, sophomore

• He had 52 tackles, including 19 for loss, and 12 sacks to help lead the Tigers to the Class 6 state title.

• First-team all-state

Troy Solomana

Phoebus lineman

6-1, 240, senior

• Named first-team all-state on both offense and defense.

• Finished with 72 tackles, including 16 for loss, and 10 sacks.

Brayden Agnese

Poquoson lineman

6-0, 230 senior

• First-team all-state on defense and second-team all-state on offense.

• Two-time All-Tidewater selection and the Class 2 Region A Defensive Player of the Year.

DeVaughn Powell

Lake Taylor linebacker

6-1, 215, senior

• Class 3 Defensive Player of the Year as he helped lead the Titans to the state title.

• He led the area with 33 sacks and had more than 100 tackles, including 40 for loss.

Isaiah Simmons

Maury linebacker

• Simmons was the Class 5 Defensive Player of the Year for the state champion Commodores.

• A two-time All-Tidewater selection, he finished with 109 tackles, including 40 for loss, and 27 sacks.

• Signed with Pittsburgh.

Javonti Hughes

Maury linebacker

5-9, 215, senior

• Helped lead the Commodores to the Class 5 state title.

• Finished with 106 tackles, including 41 for loss, and had eight forced fumbles, six sacks, two fumble recoveries and a defensive touchdown.

Malachi White

• Two-time first-team All-Tidewater and first-team all-state selection.

• Finished with 141 tackles, including 36 for loss, seven sacks and three interceptions to help lead the Tigers to the Class 6 state title.

Jamir Nesbeth

Lafayette linebacker

5-10, 180, senior

• First-team all-state.

• Nesbeth, a two-time All-Tidewater selection, finished with 94 tackles, including 15 for loss, and three sacks.

Tajuan Pair

Maury defensive back

5-9, 165, freshman

• Helped lead the Commodores to the Class 5 state title.

• Finished with eight interceptions, including three touchdowns. He also had 66 tackles and recovered four fumbles.

Jayden Covil

Oscar Smith defensive back

6-0, 170, senior

• Helped lead the Tigers to the Class 6 state title.

• He finished with 36 tackles, 18 pass breakups and five interceptions to be named first-team all-state.

• Signed with Virginia.

Kevin Adams

Lake Taylor defensive back

5-11, 185 junior

• He finished with 12 interceptions and was named first-team all-state at defensive back.

• He also rushed for 1,733 yards and threw for 1,269 yards with 35 total touchdowns and was named second-team all-state at quarterback.
