The Norfolk State women’s latest nonconference adventure was a 72-57 loss Monday night at Georgia Tech, ending the Spartans’ two-game winning streak.
Jasha Clinton netted 18 points for the Spartans (4-7), who led for some of a first quarter they finished with a 20-16 deficit.
Talayah Walker had 20 points, 13 rebounds and five assists for the Yellow Jackets (4-6), who ended a four-game slide that featured losses to Georgia, St. John’s, Florida and Texas A&M. They took a 48-28 halftime lead by outscoring NSU 28-12 in the second quarter.
LeAire Nicks had 10 points and six rebounds for NSU, and Ciara Bailey and Jenesis Hill scored seven points each.
The Spartans, 1-6 away from home, will return home for an Education Day game at 11 a.m. Dec. 11 against lower-level Dillard of New Orleans at Echols Hall.
