He was born on June 2, 1959, to Vivian Jameson Fournier and William D. Fournier. Dennis attended schools in South Portland, graduating from South Portland High School. He continued his education at the University of Maine, where he further developed his passion for the arts.
Throughout his life, Dennis was recognized as an extraordinary artist. He dedicated his time and talent to creating beautiful works of art, which can be found throughout the state of Maine. Dennis was frequently seen at his favorite locations, including the Eastern and Western Promenades, Portland Headlight, The Old Port, Kennebunk, and the beaches of Scarborough and Cape Elizabeth, painting with his easel and art supplies. Many of his pieces were purchased on-site, and his artwork was displayed in local businesses, coffee shops, and bakeries over the years.

In addition to his artistic pursuits, Dennis was a talented guitarist. He often played music with his friends and performed at various gigs in the greater Portland area, sharing his passion for music with the community. Dennis loved his family and could often be found at family gatherings in the kids’ playroom, joining his nieces and nephews in boisterous jam sessions on anything that made sound while he played his guitar
Dennis was a free spirit, and his independent nature was balanced by a huge heart. His conversations were never dull, and although sometimes heated, they nearly always ended with laughter. He will be remembered for his creativity, warmth, and the joy he brought to those around him.
